About the event
The Neuroscience of Communication Workshop
Effective communication is the cornerstone of a fulfilling life and successful leadership. It’s not just about what we say, but how we say it and the emotional impact it has on others. The quality of our interactions is deeply influenced by the interpersonal space we create and manage. Mastering this space can transform your communication and strengthen your relationships.
To lead effectively and influence others, it’s crucial to develop self-awareness, self-regulation, and the ability to harmonize emotional triggers during conversations.
Studies show that 86% of communication is about how we express ourselves—through body language, tone, micro-expressions, and our internal state—rather than the words themselves. Unfortunately, we often struggle to accurately perceive our own communication.
Unconscious speaking and listening habits can undermine our effectiveness. Whether we speak too much without pausing or react with unregulated emotions, these patterns can damage personal and professional relationships. At home, this can lead to disconnection and anxiety, while in the workplace, it can result in conflicts, HR issues, and hindered collaboration. Masterful communicators are often more frequently promoted, and poor communication is a top reason for employee turnover, regardless of intelligence.
Integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) into Communication Training:
Incorporating principles from Internal Family Systems (IFS) adds a profound layer to our communication training. IFS helps us understand and engage with the different "parts" of ourselves that influence our interactions. By recognizing and speaking from these parts—such as the inner critic, the caretaker, or the protector—we can more effectively manage our emotional responses and communicate with greater authenticity and empathy. This approach fosters deeper self-awareness and allows us to navigate conversations with greater sensitivity and understanding.
In this intensive workshop, you will:
- Explore how the brain processes language and learn to avoid common pitfalls.
- Apply 6 practical tips for effective communication based on neuroscience.
- Master the 4 Pillars of Effective Communication for personal and professional relationships.
- Enhance your real-time speaking and listening skills with conscious practice.
- Develop techniques for expressing gratitude and making amends when mistakes occur.
- Integrate IFS concepts to understand and communicate from different parts of yourself, enhancing your emotional intelligence and relational effectiveness.
This workshop is a comprehensive, 6-hour experience, delivered over 2 sessions, designed to provide foundational skills for improving communication both at work and at home.
